What is SCF?

this is directly copy and pasted from the mass mail we send to our managers in game:

Greetings, existing and new managers alike! As promised, i have constructed our Organization's very own guidebook from scratch. This is to give all managers a rundown of how SCF is to operate. This message will also be sent by default to all new managers of SCF in the future.

SUPREME COMBAT FEDERATION: THE BASICS (EST. November 13, 2023)

* We have FIVE (5) DIVISIONS, as follows:
Featherweight (145lbs. under);
Modified Welterweight (146-170lbs);
Middleweight (171-185lbs);
Light Heavyweight (186-205lbs); and
Openweight (200lbs+).

* Divisions Featherweight, Modified Welterweight, Middleweight, and Light Heavyweight are all centered around 399k+ fighters GENERALLY, but exemptions can be made at times, such as sliding down to 397k-398k youngsters.

* The Openweight Division mainly caters to 390k+ fighters.

* Ideally, I want to to meet a certain threshold when it comes down to our roster size. When its all said and done, the plan is to have 25 fighters PER DIVISION, with the exemption of the Openweight division where 30 fighters is the goal. Once met, the org will focus on these fighters and build around them for the foreseeable future. Unless obviously, the manager wants such fighter out of the org, then no extension will be had. However, the value is not fixed, down the line we may need to exceed such numbers.

* Here, long term commitment is what SCF would like to preach ideally. We will be run like a wrestling promotion per se, with certain plans for all fighters, and its all up to the fighters to win their matches in order to further the plans for them. Regardless, win or lose, there is always a plan for every fighter in the roster.

* We would like to encourage player-driven storylines and beefs amongst fighters and even managers via buzz, but it is not required. Just something to add to the enjoyment of running our org. Rest assured such interactions will be recognized by me and something can be done to address that via booking, maybe not immediately, but definitely at some point. For now, no incentives for that except recognition by SCF. Dont forget to #SCF or tag the org if you decide to do so though!

* We have created a thread in the forum. I will be posting the FIGHTER RANKINGS PER DIVISION in there, as well as announce it on the News of our Organization page in game. Rankings will be posted everytime an event is concluded.

INACTIVITY, FIGHT DENIAL, AND SO ON

* With regards to inactivity, if a manager goes inactive for a week without prior excuse or permission, then such manager's corresponding fighter will be released from his contract. Rest assured, once the manager regains his activity, he is more than welcome to sign his fighter with the org again.

* At the moment, SCF will run TWO (2) events per month, but this is subject to change. Hopefully soon enough when we get to our threshold of fighters.

* This means your fighter will always have an abundance of fights, whenever you feel he is ready.

* Now, with regards to DENYING FIGHTS, please do state the reason, as i do try to book your matches as fairly as possible with various factors. After doing so, the org will do its best to find another schedule for you if the denial is deemed reasonable. A manager can only DENY FIGHTS TWO (2) CONSECUTIVE TIMES, sanctions will be due if the denial becomes excessive and unreasonable. Note, CONSECUTIVE, so if for example: you deny a booking, and then accept the 2nd one, that means your denials will roll back to 0 for your next event. Hopefully that makes sense.

HOW OUR CHAMPIONS WORK

* Champions have the benefit of choosing their contenders, but they are not allowed to ignore the #1 ranked contender for TWO (2) CONSECUTIVE DEFENSES. A Champion can choose from Contenders ranked #1-#3 (I will personally send a mail). So heres how it will work: Champ wins his first title, in his first defense , he chooses contender #3 despite contender #1 being available, so if Champ defeats #3, he is obligated to defend his title against #1 in the next event, and if Champ beats #1, he is then allowed to choose again from #1-#3, and so on. Note, however, if he chooses #1, then that would count as a MANDATORY defense, which means he can choose the contender of his choosing after a successful defense. Hopefully that makes sense. This is to give the reigning champion some bit of creative control upon winning the belt, but only on a limited scale.

* Now that begs the question, WHAT WILL MR. #1 CONTENDER do in the meantime then? The ANSWER: he will be booked either on the same event as the title defense of the champ or to main event a subsequent one, the thing is, this will be the challenge for the #1 Contender as he will be obligated to defend his spot as well, because if he does, the champ will be mandated to defend against him.

* So what if the Champ LOSSES to his chosen contender? ANSWER: The MANDATORY defense stands, and the New Champion will have to defend against the #1 Contender before he is allowed to choose his contender. Makes enough sense? Good.

* SUMMARY:

* IF FIGHTER WINS THE TITLE AS THE CHOSEN CONTENDER, OBLIGATORY DEFENSE AGAINST #1 is in store, HE CAN ONLY CHOOSE HIS CONTENDER AFTER HE WINS HIS MANDATORY TITLE DEFENSE.

* IF FIGHTERS WINS THE TITLE AS THE #1 CONTENDER, HE IS ALLOWED TO CHOOSE IN HIS FIRST DEFENSE.

* This will be very simple in practice, so you don't have to worry. I will do most of the work anyway.

* Every org has got to have a complicated rule at some point, eh?

IN TERMS OF BOOKING

* If there are instances where a manager has TWO (2) or MORE fighters in the same division, then i tend to not book them against each other. The only time i will be obligated to book a manager's fighters against each other is when one is a champion, and the other one is the #1 contender, and such booking is a mandatory title defense.

* As for regular bookings, its simple really. I factor in org rankings, p4p rankings, skill difference. Nothing too complicated.

* I have no fighters in my own org, and i have no loyalties to the managers here, so everything is IMPARTIAL at the end of the day.

* I will try my best to book you at least 2 weeks ahead of your match for main card bookings, and close to 3-4 weeks prior if its a title defense.

* Order of the matches will be mostly based on hype and popularity for the main card, and sometimes up to the Main and Co-Main Events.

* Title defenses are automatic Main Events.

* There will be no multiple title defenses in the same event AS OF THE MOMENT.

CHANGES TO THE ORG

* As most of you here are experienced managers, and even the new ones like me, everyone knows that there are bound to be changes at some point. Such as: ID Restriction changes, Weight Classes, and so on. This is just to say that when major changes as such are planned, every manager will be consulted, and if theres no express disagreement from at least one, will only be the time that such change will be implemented.

* WHAT IF I SUDDENLY GO INACTIVE? LMAO YOU NEED NOT WORRY. I am currently in law school, which means im on my laptop 90% of the time and all i do in my life atm is read the fuck outta everything, so i doubt that’ll be happening any time soon, especially when i just joined MMAT. However, in the event that something as unprecedented and impossible as me quitting or being inactive for a period of time is about to happen: IF QUITTING Everyone will be informed and then released from their contract effective immediately; IF INACTIVE FOR SOME TIME events will be booked ahead of time, and who knows, maybe i will hire a staff down the line. Again, this is highly improbable. With regards to running this org, i would mostly likely be running it alone indefinitely.

* Staffs are possible in the future anyway, only in the form of exclusive organization writers, scouts and maybe other future positions i can think of excluding org management.

To put it simply, here's what to expect if you entrust your fighter with SCF for the time being:

* Impartial booking; for non-title defenses, i will try my best to ensure that fighters pitted against each other will have their own chances of winning said fight and displaying a quality one, especially on openweight where there will be discrepancies in size. For title defenses, champions will get to choose between a set of contenders, but unlike non-title defenses, size arent taken into account and they are required to choose a fighter to defend against regardless of odds. Also, it will be impartial in the sense that i will be a promoter-only user, so i will have no fighters in the org, and i plan on running the org alone so every fighter in the org will not be involved with me in any type of way.

* Constant Communication; As you can see, i think i can already set myself apart from my peers since SCF values communication with its managers. Major org-altering moves will be consulted with you guys as well before i make certain decisions.

* Stipulations; Although right now i dont see the benefit of it being implemented early on, but in the future id like to add unique stipulations to each of the fighter's contracts, which will be negotiated by me and you.

* New, Sustainable Organization; I understand new organizations come and go in this game, but i can guarantee having a much longer lifespan. I've personally injected some funds to serve as capital for the org to be sustained for a long time, one which couldve only been obtained with a financial backer, but in my case its all financed by me despite being a new user.

* Dedication; Im a new and eager promoter. Most new members you see here are managers, not many dedicated new promoters, well not anymore. I will be a full time promoter as i've mentioned, so i believe the potential will be endless.

* Experience; Although single player, i have thousands of hours slotted in games like TEW/WMMA, and sports managerial sims such as FM/OOTP, to name a few. That's why when i discovered this site, i was stoked, since i have always wanted to be immersed in an online community that involved a concept similar to WMMA.

* Loyalty; I plan on meeting certain thresholds for various divisions in the org, and once i do, I will be building solely on those group of fighters during the early stages and will only make little changes here and there to fill up gaps in the long run.

* Plan and Potential; My plan is for SCF to be consistent and self-sustaining, meaning we can run shows at our own pace and have fun in our own little world without the pressure of putting on terrific events and caring about rankings, records and such. The potential is for us to be a historic organization in our own right, which means we will eventually contain a rich history to look back on.
