Expanding Tickets to the Third-Party Tour

The PGA Tour announced on the 13th (Korea Standard Time) that it will grant players up to 25th in the U.S. college's top league ranking a ticket to the PGA Tour America and an exemption from the second qualifying round of the PGA Tour qualifying school.

Previously, this benefit was given up to 20th place.

The PGA Tour has also decided to provide the same benefits to players who rank first in the second division of the university, adding six more college players who will be exempted from the PGA Tour America Tour and the qualifying school's second qualifying round.

Since the launch of LIV Golf, sponsored by Saudi Arabia's sovereign wealth fund (PIF), the PGA Tour has established a policy called "PGA Tour University" to prevent college golfers from advancing to LIV Golf, lowering the threshold for college players to advance to the PGA Tour.

The incident in which Yuzino Chakara (USA), ranked second in the amateur world in 2022, joined LIV Golf as soon as he graduated from Oklahoma University.

Ludvig Arbery of Sweden, the most promising rookie of the year, entered the PGA Tour after graduating from college thanks to his "PGA Tour University" policy. He ranked No. 1 in U.S. college golf league.

Brendan Doren, director of the PGA Tour University, said, "The path of player supply from college golf to the PGA Tour is growing further," adding, "The best college players have already shown that they are ready to compete with the best players." https://www.outlookindia.com/outlook-spotlight/2023%EB%85%84-11%EC%9B%94-%EB%A9%94%EC%9D%B4%EC%A0%80-%ED%86%A0%ED%86%A0%EC%82%AC%EC%9D%B4%ED%8A%B8-%EC%88%9C%EC%9C%84-%EC%B6%94%EC%B2%9C-%ED%86%A0%ED%86%A0-%EC%95%88%EC%A0%84%EB%86%80%EC%9D%B4%ED%84%B0-top15-news-332207
